About the Venue
Historic venue change: For the first time in its 151-year history, the Preakness Stakes moves from Pimlico Race Course to Laurel Park in Laurel, Maryland. Pimlico is undergoing a $400 million renovation. The course remains 1 3/16 miles on dirt. The official draw is scheduled for Monday, May 11 at 5:00 PM ET.

Golden Tempo's Status: Trainer Cherie DeVaux expects to have a decision by end of week. The Derby winner is currently the only horse from the 18-horse Derby field expected to consider the Preakness. Recovery from the May 2 Derby will determine participation.
Jockey Assignment: Junior Alvarado confirmed to ride Crupper (Bathhouse Row Stakes winner) after his previous mount Chief Wallabee was pointed away from the race.
Training Updates: Taj Mahal and The Hell We Did are already on-site at Laurel Park and both recorded official breezes on Saturday.
Official Draw: Entries and post positions will be assigned Monday, May 11 at 5:00 PM ET at Laurel Park.
Exclusions: Renegade and Ocelli have been officially ruled out of Preakness consideration.
