Magnitude was scratched Saturday morning on veterinary advice and retired, leaving seven. Knightsbridge led along the rail with Forever Young tracking him. Sovereignty sat about 5th, saving ground, then came out on the far turn and ran down his stablemate at the top of the stretch. It was Bill Mott's third Classic and his first since 2011, and Godolphin's first as a breeder. Sovereignty retires to stud at Jonabell Farm.
